Wired writes:

Apple store employees caught four teenagers doing the unthinkable -- downloading a third-party application onto a demo iPhone -- which prompted their immediate banishment from Apple stores "for life."

Two Palo Alto High School students -- Daniel Fukuba (left), 17, and Eric Vicenti (right), 16 -- met up with two recent Paly grads, Noah Rogers and Anjay Patel, at the Apple Store in downtown Palo Alto, where they made the mistake of downloading third-party car-racing game "Raging Thunder" onto the store's iPhone...

Dictators And Mario Kart Wii

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Wii - Invoid, Gaming News
On May 16th, we reported that the name Hitler had been banned from Nintendo's Mario Kart Wii online community. In short, if you were playing under a Mii with the word Hitler anywhere in its name, you would not be able to connect to Mario Kart WFC.

We're not debating Nintendo's decision to not allow Hitler on their network. It's the their network and it's their decision. However, is it fair to single out Hitler? Surely, he is not the only mass-murdering dictator in history, or even the 20th Century. What about the others?

TheFeed did some investigating and decided to test out some the 20th Century's other more infamous characters and see how the Mario Kart online community would welcome them.

Plastic Shield Protects Your TV From Your Wii - Wired

Wired writes:

Nothing spoils the party like the impact of an accidentally airborne Wiimote smacking into the fragile glass front of your big-screen LCD TV. D'oh!

What you need is something like TV-Armor, a quarter-inch acrylic shield that hangs between your TV and objects that would do it harm, from flying remote controls to Tonka trucks to highball glasses.

The manufacturer describes it as being made of optical-grade acrylic, with a 90-degree bend near the top for hanging it, and a series of 1/4-inch thick felt spacers to separate the plastic from the TV's surface and to absorb impact. Velcro straps secure the shield to the TV.

"Balls, Toys, Wii controllers, TV remotes, beer cans, etc, are all easily stopped by TV Armor," says the company's Michael Cunningham.

Gears of War 2 release date November 16?

Joystiq:

"We're usually pretty skeptical about rumored release dates as developers and publishers often keep that card close to their chests -- however, we can't help but put our complete faith in a man with a name as awesome as Lester "Mighty Rasta" Speight. Yes, Mr. Rasta, who voiced Gears of War's "Cole Train", recently made an appearance at the TriForce panel at Wizard World to shoot the breeze about the company's line of GoW-related replicas. When asked about the sequel's release date, the TriForce crew remained tight lipped, though Rasta suggested asking him again on November 16."
